Puffin Class are supported with their learning by the fabulous Mrs Moody, Mrs Woods and Mrs Young. The adults in Puffin class come with a wealth of experience and expertise which they use to support the children in all their learning.

PE - We have two PE sessions a week, on a Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday's we have a teacher from Penryn College who teaches PE.

Each of our half termly topics is either geography or history based. Our second topic of the year is Mexico, this is a primarily geography based topic.
Science - Electricity
Talk4Writing - Fiction: descriptive writing. Non-fiction: persuasive writing.
Maths - Number and Place Value.
Guided Reading - The House with chicken legs by Sophie Anderson.
Music - This half term we ae very lucky to have an expert teacher in teaching the class how to play the ukulele.
PE - We have two PE sessions a week, on a Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday's we have a specialist Zumba instructor who will teach the class each week.
Art - We will be looking at sugar skull art work as well as the work of Frida Khalo, a famous Mexican artist.
DT - We will be tasting Mexican food and cooking our own Mexican Christmas desert: Rosca de Reves. We will also be putting our electrical circuits knowledge from our electricity science unit to good use to make light up Christmas cards.

Art - This term we will be exploring the story behind the willow pattern and be designing our own plate pattern design.
DT - In design technology this half term we will be tasting, designing and cooking our own rice based risotto dishes. We will also be creating a dragon head sculpture which will feature in our Chinese New Year WOW day later in the half term.
Music - This half term we will be receiving some specialist music teaching from on of the music teachers at Penryn Primary.
Computing - each half term we have a sequence of e-safety lessons, this half term we will be looking at self image and identity, and managing online information. We will continue to practice our keyboard skills as we work on creating our own newspapers reports using word processing software.
PE - We have two PE sessions a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays. On Wednesday's class will be taught by one of the football coaches from Plymouth Argle. On a Friday the children will be taught a gymnastics lesson by a gymnast specialist teacher.
RE - In RE this half term we will be looking at 'How and why people in Cornwall mark significant events in community life?'
PSHE- We follow the jigsaw scheme of work for PSHE and our unit this half term is called 'Dreams and Goals'.
Spanish - We use the Language Angel programme of study to deliver our Spanish and this half term will be working on using verbs to describe activities.

- how plants and animals have adapted to live in volcanic areas
- comparing life in a volcanic area with a non-volcanic area
